The 23rd anniversary of the Max Warburg Courage Curriculum (MWCC) was celebrated on Thursday, January 23rd at the Liberty Hotel with a benefit fundraiser for 150 invited guests. Set Sail with The Max featured festive cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and surprise opera performance from Boston soprano Abigail Krawson.
During the event, guests heard remarks from former Massachusetts Secretary of Education Paul Reville (the Francis Keppel Professor of Practice of Educational Policy and Administration at Harvard University Graduate School of Education) and Roxbury Preparatory Charter School teacher Mary McGrath, who works with The Max curriculum.
Since 1991, the MWCC has positively impacted the academic performance of over 150,000 students through its award-winning, literacy and character development programs in Boston Public Schools, Greater Boston schools, and schools across the country and around the globe.
