Continuing... 4/29-5/1

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), celebrates the return of spring with Art in Bloom, Saturday, April 29 to Monday, May 1. For more than 40 years, the festival has paired art from across the MFA's collection with floral interpretations created by 50 New England-area garden clubs. Throughout the weekend, visitors can share their best floral photos on social media with #mfaInBloom.

Art in Bloom launches with an Evening Preview of freshly installed arrangements on Friday, April 28. Daily events include tours of flower arrangements throughout the galleries; demonstrations of floral arranging for the home; lunch among masterpieces in the European Paintings gallery; and outdoor walking tours of the Museum's campus and beyond. A Community Day with children's activities takes place Sunday, April 30. Free Ikebana demonstrations occur on Saturday, and special Guided Group Tours are available beginning Friday evening.

Ariella Chezar, celebrated expert of painterly arrangements, offers Master Classes on Saturday, April 29; and on Sunday, April 30, Chezar presents a lecture and demonstration with techniques for creating designs that are dramatic and unexpected.
