| The Scene In and Around Boston . . . By Hilda M. Morrill October 17, 2008
We recently enjoyed a very BOSS event. We refer to the 2008 "Best of South Shore" Awards held at The Lantana in Randolph. NECN's "TV Diner" host, the affable Billy Costa, was the evening's Master of Ceremonies. Sponsored by "South Shore Living Magazine," which is published by Mike and Liz Rabideau, the event honored 160 South Shore winners in various categories, including dining, shopping, health and beauty, wedding services, entertainment and much more. The evening's producers were Shannon Emerson and Julie Fairweather of In Full Force. After having their pictures taken upon arrival on the "South Shore Living Red Carpet," guests enjoyed some of the best dishes and services the South Shore has to offer, including complimentary cocktails, live music and dancing to Bellevue Cadillac and Too Loud, gourmet food from the "best" local restaurants, free make up and spa services, raffles and giveaways. We especially enjoyed chatting with Milton Fruit Center Marketplace representatives-Michael Faherty, Ann Chafe and Mike Dwyer. Of course, the fact that they were serving complimentary delicious sparkling wines (a white Brut Cava and a Cristalino Rose Brut) poured over perfectly plump yummy strawberries had nothing to do with it at all. The charming trio has collectively worked at the Marketplace a total of 39 years! The South Shore YMCA was the event's beneficiary. Congratulations and Best Wishes to all!
