Taj Boston was proud to be the official hotel sponsor of Placido Domingo's "Around The World Tour, Boston." The occasion marked the internationally renowned tenor's first gala concert appearance in Boston. Upon Mr. Domingo's arrival at the hotel, he and David Gibbons, General Manager, also greeted Her Royal Highness Dona Cristina de Borbon, Infanta of Spain and her husband, His Excellency Don Inaki Urdangarin, Duke of Palma. "To have one of the greatest operatic artists of all time with us," said Gibbons, "is a milestone in this legendary 1927 building's rich history." The Taj hosted Placido Domingo's press conference at the hotel and the post-performance gala dinner in the Grand Ballroom. Executive Chef Franck Steigerwald and his chefs created an "artistic menu" for this once-in-a-lifetime dinner.
Boston College recently hosted "Reflections of Ireland: Music and Landscapes" by artist Richard "Skip" Toomey at the John J. Burns Library. The exhibit included a tribute to some of Boston's legendary senior Irish musicians. The Burns Library maintains an ongoing schedule of physical and virtual exhibits highlighting the holdings of its Archives and Special Collections.
