Congratulations are in order to the Regan Communications Group. The public relations agency was recently named a “2007 Corporate Friend of Children” by the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA). Led by George K. Regan Jr., Regan Communications has been instrumental in support of the work performed by Parents for Residential Reform at the Federation for Children with Special Needs and the Children’s Holiday Gift Fund.

Nominated by Parents for Residential Reform at the Federation for Children with Special Needs, Regan Communications has used media connections and staff volunteerism to help change the perception of the child welfare system in its community and has advocated on behalf of children and families at the local, state, and regional levels.

The award was presented on February 27 at a dinner held during CWLA’s National Conference in Washington, DC. “My staff and I consider it a privilege to be associated with the Child Welfare League of America. Recognizing as we do the tremendous work that is done every day on behalf of this great cause by so many individuals and organizations, it is humbling and gratifying to be recognized for our modest contributions,” said Regan.

Founded in 1984 by George K. Regan, Jr., the Boston-based agency also currently manages offices on Cape Cod as well as Rhode Island, Connecticut and Florida. For more information, please visit www.regancommunications.com. Best Wishes!

TomorrowNite Gala Raises $550,000

On February 24, more than 580 guests attended the 16th annual “TomorrowNite 2007 Gala,” a benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The event, which was presented by The Tayebati Family Foundation and chaired by Milton resident Anne Tamer Hajjar, raised $550,000.

The Citi Performing Arts Center (the former Wang Center) was transformed into a "Fire & Ice" themed extravaganza featuring two bands, creative cocktails, gourmet dining and more than 75 unique silent auction items. Recognized as the Hospital's premier fundraiser for this region, the Boston-based event has raised more than $4-million to date.

Emceed by 7News' Frances Rivera, one of the highlights of the evening featured a special performance of "Ice Cream with Suzanne" by 13-year-old Lizzie Ayoub, singing a song she wrote about a St. Jude’s patient she had met.

Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.

James Taylor to Return to Tanglewood

Looking ahead: Legendary singer-songwriter and Massachusetts native son James Taylor returns to Tanglewood for one night only this summer to perform Friday, August 24, at 7 p.m. in the Koussevitzky Music Shed.

We are told that Taylor will perform his critically acclaimed “One Man Band” show, an intimate performance of his most beloved songs along with accompanying autobiographical stories, film clips and images. He will be joined by pianist Larry Goldings.

“This marks a return to an earlier, simpler style of performance for the perennial, quintessential singer-songwriter, recalling the beginning of his career in the late ’60s when he’d hit the road with a guitar, a suitcase, and a handful of original songs.”

To charge Tanglewood tickets to a major credit card, call SymphonyCharge at 617-266-1200 or 888-266-1200. Tickets may also be purchased online through www.tanglewood.org

Enjoy!
