Chit Chat Summer Camp - Franciscan Hospital for Children
Monday, August 16, 2010 - Friday, August 20, 2010 Chit-Chat Summer Camp at Franciscan Hospital for Children. In its 3rd year, Chit-Chat Summer Camp returns to Franciscan Hospital for children who use augmentative-alternative communication (AAC) devices. Chit-Chat is a specialized day camp run by Speech-Language Pathologists through the Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology (ACAT) Clinic. This summer Chit-Chat campers will participate in activities which allow them to improve their social communication skills, interact with other AAC users, participate in fully accessible camp activities, increase their proficiency using their AAC system, and build self-esteem and confidence. At the end of the week, campers will enjoy a special field trip.
COST: A significant portion of the actual cost of camp has been subsidized by grant funding and charitable contributions. The therapy fee for this year's camp is $600 for five days. Third party funding from insurance, as well as school district funding is accepted. * Spots are limited and applications will be accepted until filled. Transportation must be provided by the child's parent or caregiver.
