The Boston premiere of Disney’s hit Broadway musical “Aladdin” is currently running at the Boston Opera House for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 5.
Called “a thrilling production filled with beauty, magic, comedy, and breathtaking spectacle, it’s an extraordinary theatrical event in which one lamp and three wishes make the possibilities infinite.” It features songs from the film as well as new music written by Tony and Academy Award winner Alan Menken. The running time of the production is two-and-a-half hours with one intermission.
“Aladdin” opened on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre to critical acclaim on March 20, 2014 and quickly established itself as one of the biggest new blockbusters in recent years, breaking 12 New Amsterdam Theatre house records and welcoming more than seven million people. Its global footprint has expanded to include productions in Tokyo, Hamburg, London and Perth, in addition to two U.S. productions.
In Boston, “Aladdin” will play Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
